Philly Invite, in conjunction with the Lehigh Valley Sports Fest, was again another 95+ degree weekend with teams coming from up and down the east coast and some teams from the mid-west.

Amp went undefeated again but the offense didn’t look as good while at Boston Invite. One aspect that was different was the presence of wind. There was some wind that picked up later in the day. Not terrible but just enough to affect some throws. This was a good experience for us since nationals is known for its windy days. On a good note, the defensive intensity was still there.

Only a few more weeks left until the club series begins, so Amp will be getting back into sync and ramping up for the series. But first there’s Chesapeake Invite.

Amp went undefeated at Boston Invite while competing against some of the top teams from the US and the world. This year at Boston Invite, Team Fisher Price (aka Team Canada) and Great Britain Mixed attended the tournament in preparation for World Ultimate & Guts Championships 2008 held in Vancouver, BC.

The offense seemed to score every single point while the defense was relentless. Hope this can continue on and improve as the season progresses. If so, then watch out for Amp on the 2008 UPA Club Championship scene.

Amp wins 2007 UPA Founders Mixed Sectionals

Amp won Chesapeake Open. Playing against Tandem in the finals, Amp pulled off a 15 - 10 victory.

Results

The finals game was the closest game of the weekend.  Amp beat a well-rounded Slow White 14-12 to cap off an impressive 7-0 weekend.  Offense was looking smooth but it was the defense that paved the way.  Amp will be looking to be even better at our next stop, Chesapeake.

Amp defeated Puppet Regime in the finals on double game point. Way to defend our title.
